What are the SMS Alerts? |
SMS Alerts is a service that allows you to stay updated on your Barclays Bank account transactions through your mobile. To receive these alerts you have to register for the service.

What are the different kinds of alerts offered by Barclays Bank? |
- Debit transactions above a predefined threshold*
- Credit transactions above a predefined threshold amount*
- Weekly Account balance
- Salary Credits**

What are the charges for this service? |
SMS alerts are FREE# for all savings account with the bank except for no frill savings account. No frills savings account and current accounts will be charged at the rate of INR 25/- per quarter.

How often will I receive the SMS Alerts? |
SMS alerts are received when a particular transaction happens in a Barclays Bank account. However, in case of the Weekly account balance, the alert is sent once a week (every Monday).

How to register for the SMS Alerts? |
To register for SMS Alerts, you need to fill up the Channel Registration Form (CRF), Account Opening Form (AOF) or call us at any of our call centre numbers.

Is it possible to receive alerts on more than one mobile number? |
No, we will send the alerts on only one mobile number which is registered with the Bank

In case I have a Joint account with Barclays, do you send alerts to both account holders? |
No, the alerts will be sent only to the primary account holder with the bank.

Do I require a specific phone for receiving SMS Alerts? |
Any GSM / CDMA mobile with an Indian number, registered with any service provider in India will be able to receive SMS Alerts.

How to deregister for SMS Alerts? |
To deregister, you can either call us at any of our call centre numbers or send a written request to the branch.
